The Military BBQ Celebration is NEXT Thursday, May 17th @ 9:45a.m. on the Grass Field. YES, this replaces lunch. You have the option to purchase a BBQ lunch, or can bring your own. If you and your family attend...you can purchase meals for yourself and other children as well...see flyer for pricing details. In order to know how much food the Cafeteria needs to prepare....PLEASE fill out and return the blue flyer a.s.a.p....indicating how many meals you are purchasing OR if your child(ren) get free/reduced lunch. Parents, you do not need to check in with the office for this event...just walk up the ramp (entering the gates on the left side of the school) and check in with your child's teacher on the Grass Field. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Silent Auction

One of our most popular events at the Fair is the Silent Auction Baskets. We need your help to make the baskets fun and exciting. Each grade is given a them. Please consider donating new items in the following categories:

We have offered you some suggestions in each category, but please feel free to be creative! If you would like, you can donate items from any grade level. Items do not have to be just in your child's grade. Also, we need baskets donated. Any size baskets, bowls, or other containers would be greatly appreciated.

You can dropp off all donated items in your child's classroom or can leave them in the Teacher's Lounge with a note marked "Fair."

PLEASE HAVE ALL DONATED ITEMS AT SCHOOL BY FRIDAY, MAY 25TH!

Our annual Vista Grande Fair (formerly known as- Country Fair) will be held on June 2nd, 2012.

This is our largest event of the year at Vista Grande and in order to help make our Fair a success we NEED your help.  How can you help???  We need to form the following Committees : Set-Up, Publicity, Silent Auction, Donations, Food, Talent Show, Games, Prizes, & Tear-Down.

Maybe you aren't able to help the day of the event, but you can help with the preparations...we need you! Or maybe you can't help the day of or with preparations, but you can donate items for our Silent Auction...we need you! There are MANY ways/areas that are needed in order to create the best event possible for our Vista Grande students...let's work together and give them some wonderful memories at Vista Grande.

Please Note: You DO NOT have to be a Foundation Member in order to attend the meeting or help with the Fair...we NEED all the help we can get.

Canned Food Drive

Our Student Council is sponsoring a canned food and toy drive for homele children. If you would like to help our Student Council please bring in your donations to the school office by December 14th.

Dear Vista Grande Parents and Guardians,

On our first day back we welcomed our Area Superintendent, Dr. Lorden and Trustee, Mr. Beiser who came to visit our school. They were very impressed with the caliber of the teaching at our school and the level of engagement and participation of our students in all grades. We discussed the needs of the school and Trustee, Mr. Beiser promised to share with the Board our concerns on the topic of budget cuts.

Thank you to all our parents who sent out post cards asking our State Legislature to protect our schools!

Last month, we had an Open House for future students. If you missed this opportunity – please call our school and our office staff will set up a time for you to visit our school.
